Bird Interactions Mid-Winter
Interactions between animals in nature us amazing. I observe animal behavior in the wild often. There are cardinals that will wait on you to feed your cats and dogs. I have noticed, not only is it cardinals. It is also doves too. Doves are known to be domesticated in many situations like the bob white quail. They will eat your animals feed and get close to you. Doves aren't mean animals, but precocious of people cause you have to get used to them. Another strange event that i noticed how crows and blue jays get along with one another. During feeding time crows steal food from bluejays. Bluejays fight the larger birds because they try to over power the smaller bird. Smaller passerines get along with the bluejays, but crows and larger birds will eat smaller passerines. I saw a redheaded woodpecker and cardinal playfully getting along. Normally, a cardinal and woodpecker wouldn't get along like this because of late winter. Usually we notice mating patterns this way.
