Crimson Clover

(trifolium Incarnatium found at Wikimedia Commons under creative commons law)
This is my favorite trifolium of them all! It's sweet smelling and it's head looks like a big ripe delicious strawberry. If you make a flower arrangement out of them. The flower lasts almost a few weeks. The state has these pretty things growing outside of Alabama's highways from Mobile to the border of Tennessee. This flower is also found in meadows throughout the Southeastern United States.

This particular plant was brought into the United States specifically for cattle in mind. The sweet scented plant is something that your cows will love chewing on. I wouldn't imagine a horse or donkey would pass it up on a sunny day. This is one of the best flowers in the State that grows wildly that everyone would like to have around.

There are many people that watches their weeds grow in the south because they love seeing all of the wildflowers sprout up everywhere and the neatly shaped leaves growing in the grasses. Others don't want the noxious stuff growing. This one is the one to keep going!
