Golden Eagle

(Aquila Chrysaetos, Golden Eagle Found at Wikimedia Commons, creative commons)
The Golden Eagle is found throughout the Southeastern United States and a proud mascot of Auburn University's football team. Their latest pet is Eve and has been an active member of Auburn for a very long time.

Golden Eagles are in Europe, Asia, North America, and parts of Africa. They are a very good predator that takes care of small rodents and other pests. They also eat fish, reptiles like snakes and lizards and very large insects. They have been known to attack full sized animals and dined.

Golden Eagles carry on monogamous relationships like wolves and some rare breeds of animals. They usually nest with about four eggs. They will nest in higher places than crows and smaller birds in their classification.  You'll probably find them in the largest long leaf pine you can find in central Alabama.

Next time you get a chance on one cool fall day, go to a Auburn University football game in Auburn, Alabama. You'll get to see the famed Golden Eagle. Don't forget to say "War Eagle!"
