Bushy Bluestem (andropogon glomeratus)

(bushy bluestem found at wikimedia.com found under creative commons law)

The Bushy Bluestem is an ornamental grass many people put in their gardens because of the plumage. Another name given to this plant are Brushy Bluestem.  They have a large creamy plumed head during the late summer  and fall months.  Due to our warm temperatures in Alabama, the plant flourishes in all soils.

Wildflower.org describes the plant as a great grower in our red clay, beachy sands and wet areas. Animals eat the seed and the grass so it's very environmental for conservation.
