(picture taken from wikipedia commons under creative commons 3.0)

The Clematis is a beautiful flowering vine that's perinnial and grows in the Southeastern United States. The vine can be used in a typical  garden regardless of it's pesky invasive growth. The flower is very hearty in the southeast due to the fact that it loves sunshine.

The plant has a strong sturdy base and it grips to climb very well on trees, bushes and in brush. It loves soil that has lots of limestone and mineral rich soil. Some animals that love the clematis is the catapillar. Catapillars are very easily found on the plant.

Some of the species of Clematis is used for essential oils and other types of fragrance uses. The plant does cause internal bleeding if injested so keep it away from kids and pets because it's poison. Tbe flowers can be used for trellis and chimneys and many other things like you would use wysteria. The flowers are very beautiful and fragrant when they bloom
