Agrostis Hyemalis
the name of this plant is
Agrostis Hyemalis which is otherwise known as a plant called Small Bentgrass. Other names for this plant are Ticklegrass and Winter Bent. The plant is a perennial and grows within Elmore county and other counties in Alabama along the northeastern end and the eastern most part of the state. The plant is vascular and flowers during the winter months.
It loves the climate of Alabama because it is mostly moist and very damp. Unlike most perennials, it doesn't have a woody stem, but is more grass like.
