My Grandmother, Lois Julian Taylor used to find plants outside the home and bring them home with her. She had a degree from University of Alabama for Agriculture and one from Troy University for teaching. She would grab plants from the side of the road and one of them was this smelly but beautiful plant called "Allium Lilaceae" called "wild garlic". Wild garlic grows along side sometimes in people's gardens. By some people, it's considered noxious and they dig it up and throw it away.
Here in my home, my grandmother was fond of garlic when she cooked meats and savory dishes. This garlic has a really pungent smell but a strong garlic taste. If you get the wild plant and grow it in your yard, you notice that it multiplies. As long as you treat this little garlic plant well. It will treat you well by giving you garlic each year. The garlic will last in your fridge for a long time, just cover it in an air tight container because it will make your whole fridge stink! :) The blooms are an attractive light lilac color which can work as a border to your flower garden and or to your veggie garden. Garlic is great in your pepper sauce. Take 1/2 of a clove and get some cayenne, jalapenos, hot banana peppers, and put into a bottle. Fill the rest of the bottle with your favorite type of vinegar.
