Hop Clover

   This particular plant seems to wind up in meadows like a bed or a rug. In a traditional sense, it's almost like an old friend. Once you step off the plane, you'll notice the familliar hop clover which blooms through spring into fall, biannually.

   This is what one calls a clover. There are many different species of clover in the state. Hop clover is the only one that has a small yellow/orange head that looks like a berry. This is the fruit on the plant that dries and sports two seed. It grows quickly, doesn't look too bad on your lawn. It is a great spreader and blends in well with your grass if you like tiny flowers along with the grass.
     This one has no special values but being in the trefold family.
