(large mouth bass found at http://animaldiversity.ummz.umich.edu/site/index.html and found under creative commons law)
The Large Mouth Bass is one of the most caught fish in the state of Alabama. The fish is one of the most common to Lake Martin, Lake Jordan and other water areas throughout the state. The fish is beautiful and eats both plankton, smaller fish, insects and sometimes amphibians. Southerners and waterfowl love eating the fish because it's meat is decadent and very clean.
The Bass comes from the family of the Sun Fish. They are the largest of the Bass family and grow to be over 20 pounds commonly. They can be found in Alabama, Georgia and other parts of the Southeastern United States. The most common way to cook a Large Mouth Bass is to batter it in beer, corn meal and fry it in a skillet. It's great for a Sunday Afternoon dinner with the family and don't forget to invite a neighbor over to help you eat it.
