One of the greatest resources we have in our state is the Alabama Cooperative Extension Services. The services they provide helps the Department Of Agriculture and also educates children and teens through their programs. 4-h is a program that has been a very important part of our children's education from k-7. There are countless activities that children learn from agriculture to physical fitness. Children also learn important skills like safety and maintaining a healthy lifestyle straight from their Alabama Cooperative Extension service.
One of the most important services that ACES does is educates the public about food safety and provides very important information through not only the media but through their office. They provide important information to expecting parents and parents and what to watch out for in foods they get through their community grocery stores. There is a wealth of information on their website about preparing foods and keeping hygenic.
Auburn University and Alabama A and M provide education material and research to the public and educators at ACES. If you are an educator and low on a few materials or need to get extra information, head on down to ACES website and find a wealth of information about our state, our agriculture, our forests and the things that Alabama Cooperative Extension has to offer.
