Mullberry Bush

(morus tree found at Wikimedia Commons and is under creative commons copyright)

The Morus tree has a special connection with every tree animal in Alabama's forests, including homo-sapiens. Our Morus sits behind the house in the same rooting as a chokecherry tree. All the little woodland animals hangout around this tree and eat of the mulberries that grow on the tree early to mid-summer.
The berries are slender berries which give you some similarities to the dewberry that blooms late spring to early summer, this little treat grows on a tree. They ripen when they are red to dark purple. They are really sweet and flavorful. Birds, squirrels, deer, turkeys and other animals in Alabama's wild love snacking on these trees. Like the choke cherry, you'll find numerous morus trees around Alabama's wild and in yards. They have the largest leaves of any plant found in Alabama besides the mimosa fern.
The Morus is usually called the mulberry tree. There are scents in glade, salon candles and many expensive designer candles that contain the smell of this flavorful and sweet smelling berry. This one is so widely loved around the world! Morus trees aren't found just in Central Alabama, but all across Europe, Asia And Middle East. Thanks for reading and have a great day!
