American Green Tree Frog

(American Green Tree Frog from wikimedia creative commons)

The American Green Tree Frog (hyla cinerea) lives throughout the Southeastern United States and also kept as a pet by many people. This frog is widely known for it's cuteness and widespread population.
The American Green Tree Frog eats insects galore. There  isn't any favorite insects in our area in particular.  It's color is bright lime green with yellow so it's prone to the leaves of mostly deciduous trees. They go after crickets, inchworms, mealworms and much more. The beautiful frogs are sold from$7-$20 at pet stores all across the United States. They are kept in beautiful terraniums and given the insects that  I just told you about. For something that you can find in your backyard to being bread as pets, it seems senseless.
They live longer in the wild and they are wonderful to see them out and about. widemouth bass tend to eat these little cuties near water. They reach out and grab them when they least expect it. You can most definitely hear these little critters at the end of winter chirping up a storm.
