Naricissus

photo found at photobucket by sueslater. creative commons from photo sharing site

Narcissus was a stupid god of vanity in Roman and Greek times that executed himself from being too vain. The flower was to represent his beauty I suppose. This one is in the same classification as a daffodil which is equally as pretty as Narcissus the man and the flower.
The particular type that multiplies like wildflower in our area is the Narcissus Jonquil. It blooms in between February months through April. They have a very very sweet pungent smell and will intoxicate you to the doctor's office. Many people like to force the bulbs of the jonquils and others. These are needed with excellent people that have no allergies. This particular type will go directly to your nasal system and right side of your auditory nerves. It's just God's sense of humor telling us, spring is near!
