The Carolina Anole

(creative commons image anolis carlinensis found at wikimedia commons)

The Carolina Anole is one of the South's most notorious green lizards. They hang around on trees, your clothes line and where ever you can imagine. They are there.

This particular critter is found in North America, particular the southeastern part of the US (Tennessee, North South Carolina, Alabama, Georgia, and Florida) They eat mosquitoes on the mimosa trees and many other little trees in your area.

He's a nasty little beast that will fight his own shadow,  he gets stressed according to a wiki on him, and also likes both shady areas and warm areas in sunshine. He'll shed his skin and eat it. It makes him one of the nastiest little insect eaters around and loved by large mouth bass and great blue herons in wet areas.

Your cats will play with this one until it dies and then eat it. I am sorry that peta might not like this entry, but I don't like this pest. It creepy and gives me the willies.  There are many links on this one is you are a sucker for these damn things... one is the genome project..good luck to you! oh they can be made as pets. You can find them everywhere .

  1. Please don't demonize a creature like this, potentially influencing others to think like this. Add in my opinion after your sentences. This is a beautiful creature that harms nobody and should be left alone. We all have one life on this planet, who are you to judge what God or goddess created and put here?!? Grow up. Respect nature.
